Roman Colosseum, Rome Italy

The Colosseum is one of Rome's most distinctive landmarks.  The building was designed to feature fight-to-the-death combats between gladiators and between gladiators and wild animals. Construction of this famous amphitheatre began in 72 AD.

Visitors to Rome can tour this wonderfully preserved 2000 year old structure and learn about life in the Roman Empire.
